Svalbard

In early 2019 I packed my life into seven suitcases and moved to Svalbard. The beauty of the arctic landscape is other worldly, and the light — incomparable. From an earlier visit I knew that I had to live in the high Arctic. As a neo-romantic I cannot imagine a place more suited to my idea of landscape imagery. My goal is to approach the challenge of the Arctic landscape with the same fervor and passion felt by the 19th century artists whose imaginations were fired by stories of this incredible place. My hope is that the viewer will experience the same love for Svalbard that I feel.
